Responsibilities
- Operate, standardize, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analytical equipment, including OES, XRF, LECO, LUX, and related automated laboratory systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and replace equipment components as needed to ensure reliable laboratory operations.
- Conduct chemical and material analyses using a variety of analytical techniques, including ICP, FTIR, and copper determination methods.
- Inspect production samples for surface defects and determine appropriate corrective actions, including rework or scrap disposition.
- Support automated laboratory operations by performing manual testing and analysis when required.
- Accurately document test results and maintain laboratory records in accordance with quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems.
- Safely handle, containerize, and label universal waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company procedures.
- Follow all laboratory safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or an Associate degree with a minimum of five (5) years of laboratory experience required.
- Chemical laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience operating, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical laboratory equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and analytical instrumentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot technical equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable results.
- Ability to follow written procedures, maintain accurate records, and work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with ISO and IATF quality management systems is preferred.
