Lab Technician
About the role
The position involves daily maintenance of fish tank displays and lab equipment, assisting faculty and students with setting up living streams, ordering lab supplies as needed, organizing and cleaning the lab space, monitoring seawater usage, working with BMFL staff to arrange deliveries, recording MCAL use, and coordinating billing with BMFL office staff.
Responsibilities
- Daily maintenance of fish tank displays & lab equipment
- Aid faculty & students with setup of living streams
- Order lab supplies as needed
- Organize/clean lab space
- Monitor seawater usage
- Work with BMFL staff to arrange deliveries
- Record MCAL use
- Coincide billing with BMFL office staff
Qualifications
Qualifications include a salt water aquarium experience. No special certifications or degrees are required, but candidates should have a strong interest in marine biology and experience with laboratory equipment and supplies.
Skills
Basic computer skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
