Lab Technician

Location: Chanhassen, MN • Onsite • M-F 8am-5pm

9-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to permanent. Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties testing of thermal interface materials and coatings.
• Evaluate, collect, and record data.
• Participate in organizing and performing experiments using established procedures while summarizing and reporting results in a laboratory notebook or PowerPoint.
• Use a computer to enter data and information, including charts and tables for communication of project results and details.
• Run and maintain laboratory equipment, lead and support ongoing standardization, harmonization, and administration of laboratory test methods.
• Ensure laboratory and application equipment are calibrated and safety-checked in compliance with local regulations.
• Conduct standard lab testing to support new product introductions and customer sample testing.
• Compile data into Excel spreadsheets to share with Application Engineers and other internal colleagues.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of demonstrated laboratory experience.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data.
• Comfortable and able to work with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices and protocols.
• Ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Degree in material science, mechanical, civil, structural, material, or chemical engineering is a plus.
