Responsibilities
- Prepare standards. Record, prepare, test and track samples throughout the lab process.
- Perform quality assurance activities to verify the capability of equipment and methods
- Assemble, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and calibrate analytical test equipment
- Perform test method reviews to ensure compliance
- Work with the lab team to complete workload and prioritize analyses to support plant operations
- Understand and adhere to site safety rules, policies and programs
- Aid in training of others on lab tech responsibilities when requested
- Maintain lab areas in a clean, safe and well-organized manner
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support site operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred
- Bachelor's degree in non-chemistry discipline, Associate's degree, high school diploma or GED or related laboratory technician certification with experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- Formal training in general laboratory procedures
- General computer experience with standard software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with LIMS and GC software is highly preferred but not required
- Experience with analytical equipment and instrumentation such as: GC, Karl Fisher, Auto-Titrators and Colorimeter preferred
