Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain plating bath chemistry to support production requirements.
• Conduct daily inspections of the production floor using an iPad.
• Make chemical additions and process adjustments as needed.
• Collect samples and perform laboratory testing, including pH testing, titrations, and color analysis.
• Accurately record test results and enter data into company systems.
• Fill and replenish chemical baths, including handling chemical materials and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Change filtration bags and assist with routine equipment upkeep.
• Communicate process issues, quality concerns, and out-of-specification conditions to management.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline.
• Ability to independently perform pH testing and titrations.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

About the Role

The position is based within a manufacturing facility that applies protective and decorative coatings to automotive components. The laboratory is located inside the plant and works closely with production operations. While the environment is industrial and hands-on, the lab is equipped with modern analytical instruments.
