Key Result Areas
- Set up, adjust and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Participate in trouble shooting processes and provide technical support.
- Test materials and solutions for various qualities and characteristics.
- Respond and react to testing anomalies and deviations.
- Collect and analyze samples for microbiological data.
- Monitor plant process water for EPA compliance.
- Support HACCP verification activities.
- Prepare graphs and charts for reporting.
- Review data and generate statistical reports.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
- Calibrate laboratory instruments and perform preventive maintenance.
- Support ESG initiatives and improve Safety Culture.
Performance Standards
- Comply with HR policies and relevant employment laws.
- Engage in team meetings and processes to improve KPI performance.
- Occasionally work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
- Occasionally handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.
Qualifications
- A combination of skills and knowledge preferred.
- A.A. in Chemistry or Biology from a two-year college or technical school, or B.S. in Chemistry or Biology.
- Two years' experience and/or training in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and/or fermentation.
- Ability to operate basic laboratory equipment and tools.
- Familiarity with basic scientific terminology and computer operation.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts when necessary.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
