About the role

This position is responsible for grading the finished product for all lines and communicating out-of-grade situations to the Team Leader. Perform dispositions of out-of-grade product.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all plant safety policies and procedures
  • Actively involved in safety, participates in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, performs risk assessments, and demonstrates ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members
  • Trains back-ups and new lab techs
  • Performs daily filing and review of Q.A. data
  • Performs any special projects assigned
  • Maintains a neat and clean work area and exhibits good personal hygiene
  • Performs all other duties assigned/requested by Q.A. Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Follows good housekeeping practices and GMP's
  • Wears required PPE
  • Actively participates in AMD activities
  • Performs CCP checks for line one and two
  • Performs quality grading checks on assigned line, typically 2 checks per hour outlined in training manual
  • Rotates through all lab tech positions

Requirements

  • Sanitation qualification is required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained.
  • Ability to accurately use the following equipment and/or tools: blender, weighing apparatus, pipettes, grinder, fryers, microwave, length grader, thermometer, dicromat, Minolta, Agtron, silver nitrate, and NIR.
  • Must be able to use a computer for data entry, report generation, and research.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.
  • Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
  • Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player, be organized, and plan.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85 dB.
  • Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Will frequently be exposed to humid conditions as well as moderate heat.
  • May occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
  • Will work around forklift traffic.

Pay

In compliance with applicable state and local laws, Lamb Weston has opted to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's work location, job duties, experience, and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is $23.35.
