Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Confirmations Tech II (3rd Shift) to join our analytical laboratory team. In this role, you will play a critical part in processing, analyzing, and reviewing instrument data to ensure high-quality, accurate results.
What You'll Work On
- SOP Compliance: Read, understand, and strictly follow all written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Sample & Batch Verification: Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of sequences for every analytical batch.
- Data Processing & Reporting: Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate analytical reports accurately and efficiently.
- Data Review: Conduct the initial review of GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data according to assay-specific SOPs.
- LIS Integration: Transcribe or upload analytical results directly to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for final review and certification.
- Documentation & Chain of Custody: Maintain accurate, complete, and proper Chain of Custody (CoC) batch documentation.
- Communication & Escalation: Maintain open communication with shift supervisors and promptly escalate emerging technical or operational challenges.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote and maintain a safe, healthful work environment for yourself and your co-workers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working in an analytical laboratory environment (prior experience with GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS preferred).
- Safety & Handling: Demonstrated ability to work safely with biological specimens, laboratory chemicals, equipment, and complex instrumentation.
- Technical Skills: Basic familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and data processing software.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to biological specimens, laboratory chemicals, and high-complexity analytical instrumentation.
- Requires adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines and safety protocols at all times.
