The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a QC Microbiology Lab Tech for a prominent client of ours. This position is in Irvine, CA 92612 Details for the position are as follows: QC Microbiology Laboratory TechnicianLocation: Irvine, CAPay Rate: $26-$28/hour Position SummaryOur client is seeking a QC Microbiology Laboratory Technician to support microbiological testing activities in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment. This position is responsible for performing environmental monitoring, water sampling and testing, and general laboratory support while ensuring compliance with cGMP regulations, laboratory data integrity requirements, and environmental health and safety standards.The ideal candidate has experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device QC laboratory and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform environmental monitoring (EM) activities in manufacturing and laboratory areas.Conduct water collection, water bioburden, and water endotoxin testing according to established procedures.Perform routine microbiological testing while ensuring timely completion of assigned laboratory work.Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and comply with laboratory data integrity requirements.Follow cGMP regulations, laboratory procedures, and company quality standards.Support routine laboratory operations, including waste disposal, glasswasher operation, and autoclave runs.Maintain compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.Work safely within Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) and Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory environments as required.Collaborate with laboratory staff while working independently to complete assigned testing and documentation. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or another Life Sciences discipline.Laboratory experience in a GMP-regulated QC environment.Experience performing environmental monitoring.Experience with water collection, water bioburden, and water endotoxin testing.Knowledge of cGMP regulations and laboratory documentation practices.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Preferred QualificationsExperience with general microbiology testing.Previous pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry experience.Familiarity with laboratory data integrity requirements and computerized laboratory systems.Experience working in BSL-2 and/or BSL-3 laboratory environments. Schedule & Additional RequirementsMust be willing to work overtime, weekends, and non-traditional hours as business needs require.Candidates must be eligible to work in laboratories with regulated biological materials and comply with all applicable federal and company safety requirements.
