Position Overview
The Lab Technician II role supports Flavor Creation through compounding flavor formulations and applying them to various tasting bases for organoleptic evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Compounding and preparing samples from formulations
- Maintaining flavor retains including intermediates
- Setting up flavors and raw materials for screening and evaluation
- Stocking, ordering, and maintaining lab supplies and raw materials
- Recording pertinent data in Product Vision and Excel data files
- Maintaining sanitation and organization of lab
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of twelve (12) college credits/CEUs, preferably in a science-related field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or other related science field)
- One to two (1-2) years of experience in a laboratory environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong PC skills required
- Experience operating in a Windows environment, managing files and handling data
- Experience in a Food manufacturing environment or lab and knowledge of food safety is a plus
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution
- Ability to be self-directed and motivated
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively
- Experience following principles and making informed decisions
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems
- Ability to present information to peers in a logical manner
- Must possess strong teamwork capabilities, flexibility to adjust to customer demands including weekends and overtime on short notice
- Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment with changing practices
- Ability to lift 10 pounds continuously, 20 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally
- Solid math skills including the ability to work accurately with formulas and decimals
- Ability to work mandatory overtime as directed by manager
- Ability to work onsite and to attend all shifts as scheduled
Pay
Base Salary: $21.59-$30.48
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Dividend Program.
