Lab Tech I - Research Assistant (Clinical Trials)

About the role

CenExel Clinical Research specializes in Phase I to Phase IV clinical trials. Our Centers of Excellence include some of the most respected and longstanding research facilities in the country. Specialties at our centers include Psychiatry, Acute Post Op Pain, Asian Bridging, Dermatology, GI, and Neurology. Each center has extensive experience in complex early phase trials and all have inpatient capabilities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and processes per protocol, laboratory manual, shipping manual, etc.
  • Aid in site preparation for study conduct.
  • Create laboratory documents such as harvest logs, etc.
  • Prepare collection tubes, vials, and study supplies for visits.
  • Maintain temperature control of laboratory sample storage and address any deviations.
  • Document harvest logs, chain of custody, laboratory sample manifests, and inventory logs.
  • Pack and label study materials for storage or return to sponsors upon study completion.
  • Collect samples according to protocol and document the process in source documents.
  • Ensure centrifuge settings are correct for processing according to protocol.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and order as needed to maintain adequate stock for study visits.
  • Store samples in upright positions in appropriate shipping boxes in the freezer.
  • Separate primary and secondary samples in different shipping boxes.
  • Ensure freezer and refrigerator temperatures are within protocol ranges and keep appropriate logs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Motivation to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with an hourly range of $20.00 - $21.50/hr.
  • Full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

$20.00 - $21.50/hr (Depending on education, experience, and skillset)
