Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in accordance with hospital policies, study protocols, and applicable regulations.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and treatment areas.
- Review upcoming patient appointments and medical information to identify patients who may meet study eligibility criteria.
- Notify the clinical trials team of potential study candidates for review by the study veterinarian or investigator.
- Maintain familiarity with active clinical trials and their eligibility requirements.
- Support Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards in the conduct of research studies.
- Aid veterinarians and study personnel during appointments and research visits.
- Learn and follow study protocols and electronic data capture systems.
- Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding approved clinical studies and protocol-required follow-up.
- Care for patients and provide client education as directed by the veterinary team.
- Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
- Participate in required training related to clinical research and hospital procedures.
- File study documentation, resolve data queries, and assist with maintaining accurate research records.
- Prepare laboratory samples for shipment according to study requirements.
- Under appropriate training and supervision, assist with administering medications and treatments as permitted by hospital policy and applicable regulations.
- Under supervision, assist with collecting diagnostic samples and performing basic laboratory procedures.
- Under supervision, assist with obtaining diagnostic images and non-invasive patient measurements.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- College coursework, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential preferred but not required.
- Previous veterinary hospital, animal care, or clinical research experience is preferred.

- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software, including Impromed or similar systems, is beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and speaking.
- Routine lifting up to 40 pounds and occasional assistance with lifting larger animals.
- Exposure to anesthetic gases, animal odors, noise, blood and other biological materials, animal waste, contagious diseases, and the risk of animal bites or scratches.
