Lab Support Technician I

About the role

The Lab Support Technician (LST I) is part of the provider care team, supporting reports, data, and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position requires providing accurate, timely, and effective laboratory support.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Accurately acquire laboratory specimens using safe, accurate, and professional methods while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies.
• Process, transport, and refer all types of laboratory specimens and reports as needed.
• Be observed and complete departmental checklists for the LST I position during the probationary period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: College level Chemistry, Biology, or other Science courses.
• Preferred: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory.
