About the role
Saint Luke's is seeking a full-time day shift Lab Support Tech to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy.
- Documents receipt of patient samples in Lab Information System (LIS) and prepares them for analysis.
- Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.
- Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
- Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
- Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
Requirements
- Experience in lab and phlebotomy highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Applicable Experience: Less than 1 year None
Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Ability to collect and prepare patient samples accurately.
- Effective communication skills.
