Lab Support Specialist - First Shift

About the role

The Lab Support Specialist provides essential laboratory support services, ensuring efficient and compliant operations in labware handling, inventory management, and material logistics.

Responsibilities

• Perform labware cleaning, sterilization, and inventory control, including autoclaving and quality checks.
• Manage gas cylinders, dry ice, and garment supplies, ensuring safe storage and timely replenishment.
• Collect used labware, restock dedicated points of use, and coordinate with clients to understand their material needs.
• Follow established SOPs and best practices, maintaining accurate records and supporting business metrics.
• Handle HAZMAT materials safely, including gases and chemicals, with adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist with other duties as assigned, working independently at customer sites in varied environments.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of material handling experience; GxP or laboratory setting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and safety-first mindset.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to lift 30-40 lbs regularly, work in cold environments (-22°F/-6°C), wear PPE, stand, walk, reach, and occasional overtime.
