About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Support Services Supervisor to join our team in Shelton, CT. This role involves supervising the day-to-day operations of non-technical staff in the Accessioning department, ensuring efficient workflow, staffing, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the non-technical staff for the Accessioning department.
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department.
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage.
  • Ensure all shifts in the department are properly staffed.
  • Research and resolve production errors, escalating when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.
  • Administer and manage policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a laboratory, healthcare, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (preferred).
  • 1 year or more of experience in a clinical laboratory (preferred).
  • 1 year or more supervising or leading a team (preferred).
  • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM.
