Responsibilities
- Maintaining an organized filing system for all pathology slides.
- Pulls slides as requested by physician for deepers.
- Fills out physicians' request forms for deepers/special stains/problem resolutions.
- Sends duplicate slides to referring physicians.
- Pulls requisitions for all departments when requested and returns requisitions to file.
- Sorts and delivers interoffice mail daily.
- Posts all outgoing mail and maintains postage machine.
- Assists other departments with clerical functions when available, including filing requisitions and organizing filing cabinets.
- Maintains QA reviews of outside path reports and files with corresponding requisition.
- Returns slides to file when received back from outside facilities & documents the return in the computer system.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager, Director, or Physicians.
Qualifications
- One year clerical experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the health care field.
- Basic Computer Skills Required.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds.

About the Role
The Lab Support Clerk provides general clerical support services under direct supervision. Duties include maintaining an organized filing system for pathology slides, pulling slides as requested by physicians, sorting and delivering interoffice mail, and assisting other departments with clerical functions.

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
