Lab Support

About the role

UST is searching for a Lab Support Associate II who will serve as technical lead for troubleshooting and configuring in a hardware or semiconductor lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Train and support team with troubleshooting.
• Assemble and disassemble systems, boards, and components such as motherboards, CPUs, memory, and power supplies.
• Perform physical setup of racks, power connections, cabling, and peripheral installations.
• Support BIOS, BMC, CPLD, and firmware updates and assist in system bring-up and smoke testing.
• Driver and network installation and configuration (Linux, Windows).
• Maintain lab infrastructure including test benches, power strips, tools, and network connectivity.
• Conduct hardware-level troubleshooting and component replacement under engineering guidance.
• Support environmental, thermal, or functional tests and collect basic validation data.
• Follow ESD safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and secure lab environment.
• Collaborate with validation engineers to prepare systems for testing and resolve setup issues.
• Assist in documentation of system configurations, test results, and issue reports.
• Support process audits, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in platform enabling/debug.
• 2–5 years of experience in a hardware or semiconductor lab environment.

Skills

• Expert knowledge of Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong networking knowledge.
• Strong working knowledge of operating systems, network environments, and PC applications.
• Experience in debugging and triage engineering systems and communicating complex issues to management and users.
• Desired: 2–5 years of experience with customer service calls and field repair and troubleshooting of user systems.

Pay

Compensation range for this role in Hillsboro, OR is $45,000–$68,000.
