Responsibilities
- Provide supervision in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Ensure adherence to high-complexity testing protocols, particularly within microbiology and virology subspecialties.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.
- Train and guide laboratory personnel.
- Oversee laboratory operations to ensure accurate and timely results.
Requirements
- Education: A B.A, B.S., M.A., M.S., or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution is required.
- Experience: A valid license issued by the state where the lab is located is required.
- An active license to perform high complexity testing or to practice medicine, osteopathy, or podiatry and at least 2 years of relevant experience are required.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience as a CLS is required.
- For M.A. or M.S. holders, at least 2 years of training or experience in high-complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high-complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology is required.
- For B.A. and B.S. holders, at least 4 years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high-complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed MD/DO in the state where the laboratory is located, and certified in clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or possess qualifications that are equivalent to those required for such certification.
- Licensed MD/DO/DPM in the state where the laboratory is located, with at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology.
- An earned doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution, with at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum of 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of virology.
- At least 10 years of experience as a CLS, of which at least 5 years have been spent working in a clinical laboratory qualified to perform high complexity testing.
- A good understanding of CAP and CLIA regulations.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Pay
$43 – $53 hourly
