About the role
The Specimen Processor role at Eurofins Scientific involves receiving, accessioning, and preparing samples for laboratory analyses in accordance with Boston Heart Diagnostics protocols. This position requires entering patient demographic and testing information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), labeling and aliquoting bodily fluids for testing, and handling samples for reference laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, and record maintenance.
- Accurately and efficiently enter patient data and test information into the LIS.
- Verify samples are correctly labeled with patient identifiers, sample types, and within stability for requested tests.
- Operate automated equipment, accurately label patient samples, and aliquot bodily fluids into appropriate volumes.
- Archive samples for storage and organize sample batches for testing.
- Prepare batches of samples for send-out testing.
- Handle problem resolution upon receipt of information from the Customer Care team.
- Prepare outgoing tubes for shipment and distribute to other departments.
- Practice universal precaution techniques.
- Perform ancillary tasks to maintain smooth operation of the Processing Area.
- Communicate effectively and work closely with coworkers to ensure all daily tasks are taken care of.
- Escalate issues impacting production or patient care to Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications
