About the role
As a Specimen Processor I in Greenville, NC, you will prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment. This role involves specimen accessioning, sorting, data entry, and resolving problem specimens according to established procedures.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 PM – 12:30 AM
- Rotating weekends: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
- Meet department activity and production goals
- Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse
- Experience working in a team environment

Employees scheduled for less than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, or temporary employees are eligible for the 401(k) plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
