Lab Skills Assistant, Veterinary Technology

About the Role

Assists the department with students utilizing the Veterinary Technician training lab.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the training lab
• Assist faculty with student-based Veterinary Technician projects
• Interface with the industry advisory board
• Assist faculty in evaluating student techniques for grading
• Collaborate with students and faculty to deliver courses
• Maintain and clean Veterinary Technician labs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Registered Veterinary Technician
• Minimum one year of related experience

• Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
• Ability to diagnose and facilitate minor equipment repairs
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a normal, professional office environment
• Work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated
• Typically involves sitting comfortably to perform duties, with repetitive hand/finger motions using a computer mouse and keyboard
• May require walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, or books
• May require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite

Pay

Minimum hiring rate: $20.00/hour

Schedule

Part-time, flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends
