About the role

The Research Technician III performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments, oversees specimen inventory, develops documentation for publication, crafts manuscripts and grant proposals, and conducts advanced scientific data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Performs experiments and data analysis in accordance with established standards and procedures under the supervision of the Principal Investigators.
  • Maintains accurate records of animal care and use, handles animals safely for routine procedures, isolates nucleic acids from biospecimens, and performs molecular biology assays.
  • Conducts advanced scientific data analysis using independent judgment and relevant research background.
  • Supervises student research assistants during experimental execution and data analysis.
  • Manages sample collection, coordinates the purchase of laboratory supplies and reagents, and maintains laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience in molecular biology research, with experience in rodent and molecular toxicology studies being highly preferred.
  • Physical effort may be required to stand or move for several hours at a time, and may be required to move objects up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Experience in molecular biology research.
  • Experience in rodent and molecular toxicology studies.
  • Ability to conduct advanced scientific data analysis.
  • Ability to supervise student research assistants.
  • Ability to manage laboratory operations.
