Lab Receiving Specialist
Job Responsibilities
Deliver specimens to designated areas and departments.
Unload specimen containers/trays.
Receive and process specimens, trays, containers in SIS system.
Work overdue SIS Tracker/Dashboard to ensure all containers have been received.
Work paperwork/manifest in real-time to ensure all containers, trays, and specimens have been received.
Receive Fed Ex & UPS as priority or other flagged priority specimens in an urgent manner.
Resolve all customer concerns efficiently and timely.
Respond and send emails concerning issues with missing specimens, containers not sent on PHX server, and other issues.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year or more of experience in a healthcare, diagnostic lab, physician office, clinic, hospital, or diagnostic lab support environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or prior Labcorp experience
- Associates/Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Healthcare, or a related science field
- One year or more of experience with specimen processing, specimen receiving, medical lab terminology
- One year or more of healthcare experience in a high-volume, detail-driven receiving, inventory, shipping/receiving, warehouse, logistics, or operations environment

- Knowledge of workflow
- Advanced computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the laboratory for extended periods during the shift
- Able to use multiple computer systems, dashboards, tracking tools, and Microsoft Outlook to document, receive, monitor, and communicate specimen status

Schedule
Evening Shift, Tuesday - Saturday 4:00 pm - 12:30 am. Required overtime based on business needs.
