Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the lab budget, equipment, and supplies to create an effective learning environment and meet educational requirements.
- Collaborates with external departments regarding the development and renovation of facilities, resolving minor construction issues.
- Authorizes purchases necessary for lab operations and determines new equipment acquisitions.
- Develops community outreach policies and initiatives, facilitating plans for labs and classrooms.
- Sets up tasks for subordinates, including culinary & beverage specialists, instructional technicians, and student employees.
- Maintains records for regulatory compliance and designs/implements laboratory policies and procedures for safety.
- Ensures staff and students complete mandatory trainings and maintains documentation.
- Ensures availability and use of protective gear, adherence to lab protocols, and conducts safety audits.
- Designs and implements new educational systems to enhance the student experience.
- Provides consultation and recommendations on lab equipment, supplies, and technology.
- Serves as a laboratory consultant to the community, promoting CNM's Laboratories and developing outreach strategies.
- Develops and implements strategies related to community outreach and public advertisement, including presenting demonstrations to community visitors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related experience OR Associate's degree and five (5) years of related experience OR High School Diploma and seven (7) years of related experience.
- Must show completion (within one year) of the following OSHA Training Courses: Blood Borne Pathogens; Hazard Communications; Slips, Trips & Falls; Laboratory Safety; Lock Out Tag Out; Personal Protective Equipment; Chemical Hygiene, and other OSHA/Safety related courses as identified by CNM.
- Must be able to drive/operate CNM official vehicles.
Preferences
- Experience in managing budgets.
- Experience in procurement.
- Experience with inventory control.
- One (1) year supervisory experience.
