Lab Driver/Courier - PER DIEM

About the role

Per Diem position for 4-hour, day shifts operating a hospital vehicle to complete a variety of pick-up or delivery assignments.

Responsibilities

• Receives messages from dispatcher or manager to deliver and pick-up items in an efficient manner.
• Walks to various hospital departments to pick-up and deliver items needed to be transported.
• Operates hospital motor vehicle(s) to pick-up and deliver items for transport.
• Drives company vehicle ensuring prudent use, adhering to all motor vehicle statutes, laws, and regulations.
• Maintains company vehicle(s) in good, clean, operating order by regularly cleaning the interior, refueling, changing oil according to schedule, and checking tires and other parts to notify manager if repairs are needed.
• Transports patients from hospital to other hospitals and/or clinics, as necessary.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Current driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to read, understand, and respond to written or verbal instructions, perform basic arithmetic, and make comparisons between numbers and letters.
• Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
• Ability to reach and grasp objects.
• Work requires pushing and pulling supply carts on a daily basis.

Previous experience is preferred; on-the-job training and orientation will be provided.

Pay

Pay range: $17.00 - $21.80 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
