Lab Coordinator - Full Time (All Shifts)

Work Schedule: Flexible shifts, 40 hours per week

Environmental Conditions

• Cold Room/Freezers (-22°F / -6°C)
• Laboratory setting
• Office environment
• Required PPE: safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.
• Standing for full shift
• Handling hazardous/toxic materials

Responsibilities

• Oversee technicians in blood and urine processing areas to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
• Prevent and minimize protocol violations.
• Ensure safety requirements are followed when handling and processing samples.
• Pack and ship specimens to clients or other labs per PPD policies and safety regulations.
• Perform duties of a blood harvester, urine monitor, and urine processor as needed.
• Audit Blood Harvest Logs to ensure compliance with protocol specifications and PPD procedures.
• Review logs for clerical errors and proper completion.
• Verify and document the presence of all blood and urine samples at the end of each study interval.
• Act as Lab liaison for specific studies as directed by supervisor.
• Interact with Study Teams, Project Managers, and non-lab staff to ensure protocol requirements are met.
• Communicate occasionally with clients to explain PK lab functions and activities.
• Maintain records of temperature and maintenance checks for laboratory equipment.
• Determine equipment and supply needs.
• Monitor and evaluate lab processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend alternative systems to enhance performance quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
• Technical positions may require certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
