Lab Clinical Tech
About the Role
As our Lab Clinical Tech, you will actively support and promote the provision of quality patient care. You will participate as a team member in the systems, functions, and activities of the unit/department, including all aspects of proper patient identification and venipuncture.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize STAT, TIMED, and ROUTINE draws and transports to meet turnaround times.
- Respond to all requests and pages in a timely manner consistent with laboratory policies.
- Follow all OSHA and CAP requirements in performance of the job.
- Accurately perform basic outpatient laboratory registration and ordering of laboratory tests per departmental procedures.
- Carry out correct procedures for blood testing and patient identification according to departmental protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform phlebotomy with minimal discomfort to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Perform venipuncture, heelstick, and/or fingerstick as required.
Requirements
- Required: California State Phlebotomy license.
- Preferred: Six months of experience as a phlebotomist or equivalent internal hospital experience and/or relevant education (e.g., AA or BS in biological sciences).
- One year of recent hospital experience as a Clinical Technician/Phlebotomist.

Pay
$34.24 - $42.78 per hour.
