Lab Associate III - Phlebotomist - South County Location

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic laboratory duties as assigned.
• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency.
• Sweat chloride collections, EKGs, and other assigned tasks under supervision.
• Reports test results as appropriate.
• Sorts and processes routine and specific high-level specimens received by the lab— including multistep technical processing (i.e., Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.).
• Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send-out tests.
• Captures and coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuating workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.

Requirements

• Five 4-hour shifts, Evenings - 2pm to 6pm, No weekends, No holidays.
• Located at the South County Campus (off Butler Hill and 270).
• Phlebotomy experience highly recommended.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2-5 years.
• Supervisor Experience: Not required.
• No Experience Required.
• Preferred Requirements: Associate's Degree.
• Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Phlebotomy.

Skills

Highly recommended skills include phlebotomy experience, but not required.
