About the role

Role Overview: The Lab Associate I provides essential support in a clinical laboratory setting, assisting with sample preparation, processing, and storage, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize samples for testing, including labeling, handling, and transportation.
• Identify and resolve sample issues, assist with equipment maintenance, and notify staff of problems.
• Support licensed personnel in pre- and post-analytic testing activities, including reagent preparation and record keeping.
• Manage inventory of reagents and supplies, perform data entry, and assist with quality control procedures.
• Sort and accession incoming specimens, maintain laboratory organization, and ensure safety compliance.
• Respond to inquiries, maintain confidentiality, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• 1-2 years laboratory experience preferred; basic knowledge of equipment operation.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good eye-hand coordination.
• Physical ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds with assistance, perform repetitive tasks, and sit or stand for long periods.
