Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist, Nights

About the role

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and established standards. Performs venipunctures where applicable and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and established standards.
• Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• No prior work experience required.
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in a healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA, or equivalent agency required (CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification).
