Lab Assistant/ Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
• Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Work Experience: No experience required; 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred; Experience in performing EKGs Preferred; Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred
• Licenses and Certifications: None Required; CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
