About the Role
This part-time Lab Assistant opportunity offers a flexible schedule and full benefits. The role involves performing venipuncture and skin puncture competently and expediently, with a working knowledge of test requirements and assistance in the clinical laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Draw blood competently, consistently, and expediently with minimal patient discomfort.
- Record phlebotomy requisitions on logs.
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
- Label and record all test tubes, log procedures, and file paperwork.
- Complete duties efficiently, prioritizing STAT orders, ASAP orders, scheduled orders, and outpatients.
- Perform venipuncture, blood cultures, and capillary blood samples.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State Laboratory Assistant licensure required.
- Current BLS certification.
