About the Role

This part-time Lab Assistant opportunity offers a flexible schedule and full benefits. The role involves performing venipuncture and skin puncture competently and expediently, with a working knowledge of test requirements and assistance in the clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood competently, consistently, and expediently with minimal patient discomfort.
  • Record phlebotomy requisitions on logs.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Label and record all test tubes, log procedures, and file paperwork.
  • Complete duties efficiently, prioritizing STAT orders, ASAP orders, scheduled orders, and outpatients.
  • Perform venipuncture, blood cultures, and capillary blood samples.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • State Laboratory Assistant licensure required.
  • Current BLS certification.
