Lab Assistant - IMMEDIATE OPENING - PRN

About the role

The Laboratory Assistant position at Granger Medical Clinic is open for part-time day and evening shifts. Our mission is to provide exceptional care through teamwork and dedication.

Responsibilities

• Unpacks samples from couriers, ensuring all samples are accounted for and documents are complete, then scans them into the LIS to mark them "Received."
• Performs waived tests, following established protocols.
• Inoculates culture specimens with appropriate media.
• Cleans glass pipettes using established protocols.
• Performs other work-related tasks assigned by Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) or Medical Technicians (MTs).
• Wipes down lab surfaces with appropriate cleaning supplies to maintain cleanliness.
• Helps organize the lab space.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of laboratory experience.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous specimen processing or similar experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Effective communication skills with patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively and assist others.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
