Lab Assistant II-Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of Clinical Supervisors, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Lab Coordinators performs receptionist, processor (Core, Microbiology or Anatomic Pathology), and phlebotomist duties to serve patients with compassion and empathy.
• Communicate professionally with nursing staff, physicians, and lab personnel regarding specimen needs or issues.
• Accurately enter and verify patient and specimen data.
• Provide courteous, professional service to the patients and families.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and hospital safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

• The Lab Assistant II must have 1 year NKC Health Lab experience, and either be cross-trained in 3 departments (Phlebotomy, Processing, Reference Lab, or Front Desk / Toxicology) OR Be a clinical specialist in Microbiology or Pathology.
