Job Summary

Job Shift: Nights
Job Type: Full Time
Up to $10,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine technical and clerical functions.
  
• Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens;
  
• Performs CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.
  
• Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing.
  
• Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
  
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned.
  
• Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.

Qualifications

• Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  
• Experience: Required: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
  
• Preferred: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.
  
• Certifications: Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires.
  
• Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.

Organization Description

St. Marys Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach. The hospital has been serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast for more than 80 years. SMMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, certified Comprehensive Stoke Center, and has a level III NICU. Pediatric services are provided at the Palm Beach Childrens Hospital at St. Marys Medical Center, which is the only dedicated childrens hospital between Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando. Along with 24/7 dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma care, Palm Beach Childrens Hospitals medical staff consists of 196 pediatricians in 36 subspecialties.
