Responsibilities
- Demonstrates an ability to learn job duties and understand how functions in Technical Operations and Specimen Processing work together.
- Identifies and resolves issues with specimen types, missing information, sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens.
- Develops an understanding of compliance policies related to test ordering and researches test order information using translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services.
- Maintains quality and production standards within 6 months of training.
- Completes all required written documentation in a clear, legible, and timely manner.
- Reports to work on time and follows attendance guidelines, supporting the department in case of coworker absences.
- Learns additional functions within Technical Operations and Specimen Processing to facilitate progression to the next level.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Preferred Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a production environment.
- Knowledge of medical background, including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Skills
- Minimal data entry skills.
