About the role
The Emotional Lives Lab at UC Riverside is seeking a full-time Lab Assistant to begin on August 15, 2026. The position is for one year.
Responsibilities
- Participant recruitment and screening
- Data collection
- Maintaining research protocols and data storage systems
- Managing teams of research assistants
- Assisting with IRB and other documents
- Maintaining study databases and lab documentation
Requirements
- Undergraduate level statistics course and experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g. Matlab, SPSS, R, Excel, etc.)
- Experience recruiting or scheduling human subjects
- Experience collecting data from human subjects
- Experience collecting and/or analyzing experience sampling data
- Experience conducting independent research in psychology
- Experience working with adults across the lifespan
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated background and passion for research experience in psychology or related fields
- Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management skills
Skills
- Proficiency in conducting statistical analyses with R, or another statistical package
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in Spanish
- Computer skills such as programming experience in R, Python, or a related programming language
Benefits
The full salary range for the Lab Assistant 1 is $53,766.00 - $62,994.96 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $55,937.52 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
