Lab Assistant
Position Summary
The Laboratory Assistant, in the laboratory of Dr. Barbieri at the Alzheimer's Center at Temple (ACT), provides technical and operational support for research focused on molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disease. The laboratory investigates how molecular chaperone systems regulate protein quality control and promote cellular resilience in disorders including Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Parkinson's disease. Research in the laboratory utilizes yeast-based genetic models and human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neuronal systems to study protein aggregation and proteostasis pathways relevant to disease.
