Job Overview/Summary

The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by assisting with specimen handling, preparation, and basic laboratory procedures. This role ensures accurate processing of samples while maintaining laboratory safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the collection, labeling, and preparation of laboratory specimens.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for laboratory tests and procedures.
• Support laboratory staff in sample processing and preparation for analysis.
• Ensure laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and properly maintained.
• Follow established laboratory safety procedures and quality control standards.
• Aid in inventory management and restocking of laboratory supplies.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely processing of samples.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• One year or more of experience in the healthcare industry (clinics, hospitals, or physician offices) is preferred.
• One year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment is preferred.
• One year or more of experience in a medical or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
