Job Overview/Summary
The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by handling specimens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate data entry. This role demands strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient work in a fast-paced clinical or laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Receive and sort clinical laboratory specimens
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- Perform scanning and data entry of specimen and patient information
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance
- Replenish test bench supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete Record Logs and other administrative duties as required
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safety and quality standards
Primary Skills
- Specimen handling and processing
- Data entry and documentation accuracy

- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
- Basic equipment maintenance
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- Experience in clinical or diagnostic laboratory settings
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- One to two years of medical, laboratory, or production experience is preferred
