Duties
The Lead Phlebotomist provides day-to-day direction to the Phlebotomy team in achieving optimum workflow while providing an exceptional experience. This individual supports the Supervisor by performing a combination of activities while ensuring all procedures and policies are adhered to.
Performs phlebotomy duties in compliance with applicable legal requirements and established laboratory policies. Demonstrates H3W behaviors with a focus on exceptional patient experience and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Significant Processing experience required.
- Sunquest or Beaker experience required.
- Prior Leadership experience required.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Successful completion of Phlebotomy program
- 2 years phlebotomy experience
- National Certification (NCCT or ASCP) or equivalent
- Knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Good keyboarding skills with ability to learn various laboratory application and HHC computer systems
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to handle different patient population including difficult patients
- Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to operate required lab equipment including pneumatic tube
