L2 Java Support Engineer

About The Role

As a L2 Java Support Engineer, you will make an impact by supporting business-critical transportation applications and ensuring incidents are resolved accurately and within service-level commitments. You will be a valued member of the application support team and work collaboratively with development teams, business users, project stakeholders, and other technical teams.

What You Need To Have To Be Considered

• 6+ years of experience in Java application development, production support, or a related technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and SQL.
• Experience analyzing and resolving production incidents in an enterprise application environment.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud-based applications, including reviewing pod logs and performing pod restarts.
• Ability to participate in weekend shifts and support business-critical applications within service-level commitments.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as OpenObserve, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Experience conducting root cause analyses and recommending long-term technical solutions.
• Knowledge of application support automation and techniques for reducing recurring ticket volume.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear updates during high-impact incidents.
• Experience supporting transportation, logistics, retail, or other high-volume enterprise applications.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $55,000 – $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
