Kyrgyz Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Kyrgyz-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate and concise interpretations of conversations between Kyrgyz and English speakers.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Ensure punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol to meet client expectations.
• Understand and adapt to various industries' terminology and procedures.
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Handle emotionally and/or stressful calls with professionalism.

Requirements

• Fluency in Kyrgyz and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain detached and neutral during sensitive calls.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write in the requested languages.

• Access to a dedicated personal device for business purposes.
• A desktop/laptop computer with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS.
• A tablet (iPadOS or Android) or smartphone (iOS or Android).
• No restricted brand devices.
• High-speed internet connection with minimum download/upload speeds and ping/jitter values.
• A quiet workspace free from background noise or distraction.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write.
• Able to lift up to 26 lbs.
• May be exposed to moderate noise levels.

Pay

The pay rate is $0.75 - $0.90 per minute.
