KPO (Continuous Improvement) Technician

About the Role

The KPO Technician will focus primarily on hands-on shop floor Kaizen activities and perform a variety of Continuous Improvement tasks in support of the Kaizen Promotion Office. This role aids in creating a safe, efficient, and effective Lean operation.

Location: Manchester, CT. This role is onsite 100% of the time and follows a 1st shift schedule with core hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with all functional departments and handles Continuous Improvement requests
  • Undertakes independent projects as needed in support of the department
  • Supports Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Associates in the application of Lean principles
  • Assists in the creation of Work Instructions, Daily Management, 6 Sigma, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Documents
  • Assists in designs and fabricates equipment from Creform Tubing and other materials
  • Assists in the completion of Kaizen Newspaper Action Items
  • Participates in and supports Kaizen Events
  • Adheres to all Core Values (Health and Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Development of People, Integrity, Corporate Citizenship, Continuous Improvement, Respect)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years in continuous improvement-related experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and walk
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
