Job Summary

The Key Private Bank (KPB) Teller supports the KPB sales and service team by delivering exceptional teller and client service functions within a Private Banking Office. This role is responsible for processing client transactions, supporting need identification, and coordinating product and service delivery for high-net-worth clients. The KPB Teller provides efficient, accurate service and effective problem resolution throughout the client experience. Supports the KPB team to grow, expand, and retain client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily teller transactions accurately and efficiently within the Private Bank branch, including cash handling, balancing, and transaction processing.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned cash drawer and adhere to established balancing and control procedures.
  • Ensure all branch operations are conducted effectively and in compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Aid clients and the KPB team with basic account opening and account maintenance activities.
  • Deliver outstanding service to all KeyBank clients with a strong focus on high-net-worth clientele.
  • Greet and welcome clients promptly and professionally; acknowledge clients by name when known.
  • Answer branch phone calls courteously, promptly, and professionally.
  • Strive for first-call/first-contact resolution of client inquiries and issues; escalate to management when necessary to ensure optimal client outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to retain and expand client relationships by gathering relevant client information and consulting with KPB Officers.
  • Adhere to all client authentication processes and procedures to protect client information and prevent loss.
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud, money laundering, or other suspicious activity in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including ethical standards, professional conduct, avoidance of conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of clients and the organization.
  • Partner closely with Client Relationship Associates to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Engage KPB Relationship Managers, Fiduciary Strategists, and Portfolio Strategists as needed to support client servicing and solutions.
  • Provide assistance to KPB Relationship Managers and Officers on internal systems, tools, and processes to ensure proper utilization of programs and procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of KeyBank products, pricing, and features, as well as applicable processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in deposit and loan servicing functions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, including Salesforce.

Education Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business/operational experience (required).
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of work and educational experience (required).

Experience Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of branch operations.
  • General knowledge of financial products and services, including banking, trust, and investments.
  • Demonstrated excellence in client service, communication (verbal, phone, and written), and problem resolution.
  • Ability to manage all servicing aspects of client relationships.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use proprietary software, databases, and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling and manipulation.
  • Occasional bending and lifting from floor height.
  • Frequent forward reaching.
  • Frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Compensation And Benefits

This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 - $23.08 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
