Job Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in representing employers in employment-related disputes, with a focus on high-volume litigation support
- Manage and execute discovery, including drafting and responding to document requests, interrogatories, and subpoenas
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and motion drafts
- Aid with case management, fact development, and document review
- Support employment advice and counseling matters, including providing day-to-day HR guidance to clients
- Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, policies, and workplace documents
- Translate and adapt employment policies and legal materials for Korean-speaking clients, ensuring compliance with U.S. and California law
- Communicate directly with Korean-speaking clients on employment-related matters
- Collaborate with attorneys and team members across offices
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in Korean required (reading, writing, and speaking)
- 2+ years of experience in labor and employment or general litigation (law firm experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in employment advice and counseling and/or employee handbook drafting
- Strong experience with litigation support, particularly discovery and written work product
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently
- Admission to the California Bar
Preferred Candidates
- Experience supporting employment litigation on behalf of employers
- Experience drafting or reviewing employee handbooks or HR policies
- Interest in a non-partnership-track, high-impact support role within a busy practice
- Strong communication skills, particularly in working with Korean-speaking clients
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
