About the Role

Teach students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in English Language Arts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree (required for teacher, librarian, or counselor positions, except designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) roles).

• If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license.
• Must enroll in a program aligned with the teaching line you are hired in and demonstrate active pursuit of licensing requirements annually.
• Upon hire, must have a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.

Desired Experience & Knowledge

• Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.
• Ability to plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
• Exercise independent and professional judgment in daily functions.
• Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines.

Pay
