About the role
As a Knowledge Analyst with Energy Solutions, you will provide daily problem-solving, structuring, modeling, and analytical support for our Energy Solutions tools and analyses. You will gather information to develop these tools/benchmarks and synthesize findings into McKinsey-formatted products, such as complex models, summary reports, and standalone presentations for internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily problem-solving, structuring, modeling, and analytical support for our Energy Solutions tools and analyses.
- Gather information to develop these tools/benchmarks and synthesize findings into McKinsey-formatted products, such as complex models, summary reports, and standalone presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with other experts to solve client problems, deepening your knowledge and refining your analytical and thought-partnership skills.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, science, or other degree with a quantitative focus.
- 1+ years’ experience (internships and/or full-time) and interest in the energy industry, such as oil & gas, power, sustainable fuels, chemicals, decarbonization, and commodity trading.
- Experience with modeling capability tools such as Python or R. Experience with power model software, such as Pypsa, Plexos, or Aurora is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Tableau.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with a strong aptitude for working with numbers and quantitative models.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, results-driven team setting, demonstrating a steep learning curve and a strong commitment to coaching and development.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in English, both verbally and in writing.
