Location: Omaha
Reporting to: Kill Floor General Foreman

Responsibilities

• Operate knocking gun and ensure proper humane handling procedures are followed at all times.
• Identify if an animal shows any sensibility immediately following knocking.
• Attend monthly training sessions and meet minimum expectations.
• Maintain knowledge of knocking gun upkeep and perform audits.
• Ensure accuracy in operating the head restraining mechanism, knocking position, and cattle volume entering the knocking box.
• Accurately open the knocking box gate to the shacklers.
• Monitor stunned animals for signs of sensibility; notify the Touch of the Eye employee immediately if sensibility is detected.
• Sound the buzzer to alert maintenance if the landing hoist malfunctions or jams.

Requirements

• Able to work in an extremely hot, enclosed environment surrounded by heavy machinery.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Able to work extended hours, including some Saturdays.
